Iran from the Sky: Aerial photos from different cities of Iran

The work began in spring 1995. The Sahan flying company accepted to give us rides and our first flight took place the 27 March 1996 from Masjed Soleiman over the Khuzestan. We all had great difficulties. Our journey was very hard and full of danger but finally it ended on the 7th of October 1997 and we took our last flight over Tehran. We have had 500 hours of flying beyond us. “Iran from the sky” is the result of this journey.

Until now, our experience has been only in two levels: the plans and the view of these towns. But, taking these photos from above is a new way to show the nature of the cities. The beautiful and ever changing nature of Iran has shown itself in a wonderful way in our ancient architecture which begins from the north edge of the Caspian Sea and goes south to the Central Desert and ends with the Persian Gulf. One of the specialties about Iranian cities is the link between the architecture and its background. Showing the different views of living in villages and towns, and the harmony between the nature and the architecture is the aim of these pictures.
